Traditional Watercolor Painting

Learn traditional methods of painting in watercolor with step-by-step instruction on how to 'manipulate' the medium. Drawing, composition and perspective lessons are shown to create a good foundation for your painting. Paint from colorful still life, landscape, portrait and figure references. Contemporary Acrylic Painting

Do you want to learn to paint with Acrylic in contemporary way but sounds very complicated! No worries!!! By understanding some basic principles you can produce some fantastic work. You will learn the basics of composition, shape, value, texture and color harmony. This class is for beginner as well as for intermediate. In this class emphasis will be provided on step-by-step sequence on seeing composition, distinguishing light and shadow, play of light and color, effective application of paint to achieve the desired look. You will learn choosing right color and also how to use palette knife.

Fun with Watercolors

Paper as Palette

Create collages while using unique and interesting materials. Experiment with different papers, techniques and ideas to create innovative collages. Color theory, composition, texture, shape and line will be our focus while using paper as a tool to achieve finished pieces of work. To the first class bring watercolor paper 16x20 and any decorative papers you may have. Materials fee $5.00 payable to the teacher

The Portrait & Figure - All Media

Experimental Water Media & Collage Discoveries

Explore new possibilities! Loosen up and take artistic chances. Expand your painting and design skills using fluid acrylics, collage materials, and innovative mixed media techniques. You will learn layering methods and underlying design structures while working with contemporary formats to create intriguing textural artwork with strong, colorful and exciting images. This class will help you discover new ways to develop your own personal style whether realistic, abstract or impressionistic —while having lots of fun doing it. Anatomy for Artists

Learn to draw from the model. Focus will be on line, proportion and capturing the gesture of the figure and developing a completed drawing. Introduction to Stone Carving

This course is intended as an introduction to time-honored hand-carving techniques for sculpting stone. We will be working outside weather permitting. It is intended as an ongoing class. We will work through summer and fall until it is too cold to work outside. We will skip bad weather days and add the missed days at the end of classes. You may bring your own material.
