ACRYLIC PAINTING TECHNIQUES

Enjoy learning how to use acrylics and its quick drying advantages to create beauti-ful works of art that have depth and luminosity. Join me while I teach easy tech-niques of acrylic painting for both the beginner and experienced artist. Students will explore various subject matter which include; live still life arrangements set up in the studio, landscape photo that includes a water feature, and a favorite animal pho-to. Fundamental elements of form, light and shadow, blocking in of color, value, composition, etc. will be covered. INTRODUCTION TO STONE CARVING

This course is intended as an introduction to time-honored hand-carving techniques for sculpting stone. We will be working outside weather permitting. It is intended as an ongoing class. We will work through summer and fall until it is too cold to work outside. We will skip bad weather days and add the missed days at the end of classes. You may bring your own material. In this course, you will receive individual instruction tailored to your objectives and own experience. You will learn composition, impact of light, blending, mixing, textures and also learn how to interact with different mediums/colors. Students may work from a still-life or other reference materials e.g. photographs. Classes are relaxed and informal. This is a great class to experiment with different media or to perfect your skills in a single medium. You can also combine mediums. Beginners and Intermediates all are welcome to join.

Create a new book or give life to an old book - recycle and create a mixed media artwork. Using mixed media, collage techniques, painting, printmaking, photography, writing, cut, tear, fold, add pockets, niches and more to change the appearance and/or the meaning of the book. It can be done simply by adding, drawings etc. to create complex book structures. Materials fee $5 paid to instructor. Call for supply list.
