acrylics, watercolor and collage materials.  Learn layering techniques using multiple
transparent glazes, gold leafing with collage, and texture with various tools.  Explore

design structure enables you to employ these techniques to enhance both your

The course will explore the essential mechanics of cartooning comic strips.  Studies will
include character design, character development, narrative art and composition.  
Students will develop the skills needed to write and illustrate their won comic strips.  Bring
a 2B pencil, black micron pen, white Magic Rub or Mars eraser, ruler (at least 18 inches in
length), T-Square, Ames lettering guide, drafting tape, 14 x 17 Bristol vellum finish
drawing pad and sketch book ( 9 x 12 or larger. ) Extension classes may be scheduled.
